  • Omaha Chiropractic for moms

Some days might look like this. Trying to balance work, family, and home. For all those busy mammas out there, we are here to help you take care of yourself and your loved ones. Chiropractic can provide a sense of wellbeing and have a positive impact during the different stages of motherhood. You can experience benefits like: - Reduced back pain: by restoring proper alignment, we can decrease muscle strain and improve flexibility, resulting in less back and neck pain. - Experience less headaches and migraines: by applying pressure to the joints in the neck, face, or skull we can release the compression affecting facial and cranial nerves. - Improved balance: changes in posture can cause balance issues. They lead to degeneration of the spinal discs and unhealthy curvatures. Chiropractic restores mobility and prevents deviations from getting worse. When you can move freely and engage the muscles supporting your spine, it reduces your risk for balance problems. - Improved breastfeeding: adjustments can help induce milk production by restoring nerve and hormone function. They can also relieve the pain and tension moms experience on their upper back from nursing their babies. - Less menstrual symptoms: misalignments in the lower spine and pelvis can impair nerve signaling to reproductive organs. The pelvis supports and protects the lower abdominal organs, including the uterus. When it’s tilted, it puts additional strain on the back and abdomen. Chiropractic can correct this issue, reducing pain and cramping without the use of medication. - Faster postpartum recovery: chiropractic restores the body’s biomechanics impacted by delivery and pregnancy. Realigning and balancing the pelvis ensures a faster healing process. Being a mom is a wonderful ride, we are here to support you and ensure you feel and function at your best!

  • Physical Therapy and Chiropractic

We are strong proponents of Physical Therapy and often recommend patients get physical therapy while undergoing chiropractic care! While there can be a lot of overlap between the two professions, there are also a lot of specialty techniques and strengths that each have. Using multiple modalities when an injury or pain is present typically helps patients recover faster and function better. We love PT! Do you have a physical therapist you love? Tag them in the comments! #physicaltherapy#physicaltherapyworks#chiropracticcare#chiropracticworks#injuryrehab#painrelief#vibrantchiro#worktogether

  • Kids Healthy Posture Tips

Teaching kids to have correct posture can be challenging, but your hard work will sure pay off in the future. Proper posture helps protect their growing spine. Poor posture can lead to increased strain on the muscles, ligaments, and joints. Here are some tips to help with homework time: -Ideally, they should use child-size desks and chairs. If those are not available, you can use a pillow to raise them up to the right height. -Sit with elbows, hips and knees all bent at a 90-degree angle. Their feet should not dangle. If they do not touch the ground, you can prop them up on a firm surface like a book or box. -The back should be straight with shoulders back while seated. Buttocks should be all the way back in the chair. This allows their spine to sit in a natural S position. -Screens or books should be at eye level, about an arm's length away, to avoid looking down and straining their neck. -When standing, weight should be placed evenly over both hips and feet. The back should be straight with shoulders back and chin up. -Switch up positions every 10-15 minutes. Taking breaks provides movement and helps prevent frustration. Be patient. If your child has a hard time sitting still, let them stand up, with their homework taped to the wall or on the underside of a table so they can work laying on their back. If you are concerned about your child's posture, add “Visit to Vibrant Family Chiropractic & Wellness” to your back-to-school checklist. We are here to support kids and ensure they feel and function at their best!

  • Stretch for neck pain

Here is a great stretch to help relieve stress and tension in your neck and shoulders! Start by sitting up straight with your shoulders rolled back. Use the weight of your hand and arm to gently stretch your neck towards the same shoulder. Hold for 10-20 seconds while you take some nice, deep breaths. Then repeat on the opposite side. This should feel like a good stretch. If it is uncomfortable, stop and consult your chiropractor. This is just one of the many things you can do to help your body feel and function better!

  • Your Child's Posture

Good posture builds your child’s confidence and impacts their emotions. Hunching over can trigger negative memories. On the other hand, sitting or standing upright can brighten their mood, inspiring positive thoughts. For both children and adults, proper posture keeps back muscles working effectively. A poor stance can lead to inadequate joint patterns causing tendonitis, impingement, and overuse injuries. Chiropractic ensures optimal joint function. Regular care can have long-term benefits to your child’s health. When their spine is aligned correctly, they sleep and breathe better, promoting optimal brain and hormone function. If you are concerned about your child's posture, add “visit to Vibrant Family Chiropractic & Wellness” to your back-to-school checklist. We are here to support kids and ensure they feel and function at their best!

  • Backpack Ergonomics

Developing good posture as a child has long term benefits that will last a lifetime. With the return to school comes the constant use of heavy backpacks. Inappropriate backpack use can cause muscle strain, distort the natural curves of the spine, and compress the intervertebral discs. To avoid poor posture and injuries follow these recommendations: ∙ Wear the backpack on both shoulders. ∙ Make sure the straps are wide and padded. ∙ Keep a loaded backpack to no more than 10% of bodyweight. ∙ Tighten the shoulder straps so the pack is snug against the back. ∙ Distribute weight evenly, with heavier items closer to your back. ∙ The backpack should be centered between the shoulder blades for best support, given that the core and hip muscles will carry most of its weight. ∙ The bottom of the backpack should not hit more than two inches below the waist. • Cat/Cow Pose

We love the cat/cow pose! It can be great to help relieve tension in your upper, mid, and lower back while stretching the chest and abdominals. Try starting your morning by inhaling into cat pose and exhaling into cow pose three times each. If either of these positions are uncomfortable, stop doing them for the time being and let your chiropractor know! There are so many different stretches for your back and this may not be the right one for you.

  • Breastfeeding Posture and Chiropractic

Moms often experience issues with posture and back pain after giving birth. These can be attributed to breastfeeding, bending, leaning, and holding a baby. Many suffer from joint instability due to continued high levels of relaxin from pregnancy, especially if they are breastfeeding. Chiropractic care can help restore balance in the spine and pelvis, speeding the healing process. Sleep patterns can also face disruption from having to get up often during the night. Acupuncture can reduce anxiety, stimulate melatonin production, induce sleep, and reduce sleep disruption, improving your energy levels. Adding cupping therapy can reduce trigger points, improve blood flow and mobility. Combining chiropractic care along with acupuncture and cupping can ensure a healthy postpartum recovery. We are here to support moms and ensure they feel and function at their best.
